If you are relatively new to working in wetland plant identification, this class will get you up to speed in just a few weeks.  It is highly recommend that you take this class before you undertake our Certified Botanist program. 

Federal Agencies and their Contractors are required to comply with Section 7 of the ESA in order to perform any major construction projects. The Endangered Species Act Consultation Process Course will clarify the process if you are contracted to perform a federal agency construction project that may affect T&E species and will describe in depth how to comply with the ESA.

Suppose you want to build a new hotel on the perfect plot of land on the outskirts of town. After investigation of the site you learn to your dismay that there are several federally listed species that would be negatively affected by your development.  You find out that if you were hurt or harass any animal, it would count as a take, which is illegal.  In order to proceed with your project, you will need to acquire an incidental take permit, which requires the preparation of a habitat conservation plan.
