Swamp School uses Microsoft Teams as the primary way for students to contact instructors and ask course-related questions.

Important update

  • The “Message my teacher” block and Moodle’s internal messaging feature have been disabled

  • Course communication is now handled through Microsoft Teams

How this works

  • Each course has its own dedicated Microsoft Teams space

  • Inside each Team, you’ll find a Course Chat / Q&A channel for questions and discussion

  • Instructors monitor these spaces and respond there

How to access Teams for your course

  • On the main course page in Moodle, you will see a block on the right-hand side with a link to the Microsoft Teams space for that class

  • Click that link to join or open the Team for your course

Private discussions with instructors

  • For private or sensitive discussions with your instructor, please use the Microsoft Teams private chat feature

Important things to know

  • You do NOT need a Microsoft Office or Microsoft Teams subscription

  • You can join Teams for free as a Swamp School guest

  • Teams works in a web browser — no software download required

  • You may also use the free Teams desktop or mobile app if you prefer

  • If you already use Microsoft Teams, you may use your existing Teams login to access your course Team

  • You do NOT need to use the same email address as your Moodle course login

Rollout note and support

We are currently building out Microsoft Teams spaces for each class. Some courses may not yet have a Teams space available.

If you do not see a Teams link for your course, or if you need any assistance, please email
support@swampschool.org for help.
